POV from my seat at the award dinner. We were the second recipients and I was taken by surprise!

Thankful. Grateful. Absolutely Blessed.

Those were the swelling feelings within me as we went onstage Singapore Tourism Award 2018 on Tuesday 8 May at Fairmont Singapore.

Wow what a whirlwind of an adventure for Jublia the past 4 and a half years! And we do not plan to slow down anytime soon. But this is exactly the boost we craved, knowing that we clinched the award despite all odds made the victory that much sweeter. It is the validation of blood, sweat, tears and sacrifice every team member has contributed. Yes I think we are now ready for our next challenge — World domination.

Lionel Yeo, CEO of STB presenting Jublia with our award. Thank you very much sir!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with our backstory, I’ll keep it short and sweet: Jublia is a home-grown global event technology startup founded by 3 NUS students in 2014. The idea for the business and technology innovation was first conceived in Sweden while we were on a university scholarship program. Over countless meatball dinners and fika, of course.

Despite not being funded nor having prior industry experience, we hustled, we raced, we took every opportunity graciously given, and made sure they produced spectacular results. Fast forward today, Jublia is a global market leader and pioneer of B2B meeting solutions for the MICE industry. Our proud achievements include major flagships — Interpol World, World Future Energy Summit, World Islamic Economic Forum, Fi Europe, PowerGen International, Singapore Airshow and the Singapore FinTech Festival.

I’d say some key factors to our progress thus far has been staying relevant to the market by specialising in what we do best, adopting far-sighted innovations, and always being accountable and transparent with our customers. Our entire team is made up of Thinkers and Doers who work nimbly with much agility. We never allowed complacency to bleed us, hence our culture has been one of consistent iteration through data-driven feedback. We take pride in solving problems, producing tangible results and definitely, building customer-first excellence.

Singapore FinTech Festival 2017 clinched the Best Trade Conference Organiser, Best Business Event Service Provider and Best Business Event Venue. MAS, ABS, SingEx, Max Atria and Jublia represent!

We want to thank the Singapore Tourism Board for the event and for constantly spurring the growth of the MICE industry, both in Singapore and globally. Credit also goes to all our esteemed customers, industry associates and partners who have supported us throughout this journey. Winning the award together with SingEx makes me feel especially warm and fuzzy considering they were our very first local customer.

I would also like to take this opportunity to hopefully inspire everyone from the MICE industry. Let’s work towards collaborative excellence as we venture into a yet another new and exciting frontier. As the wildly successful property tycoon Li Ka Shing once said, “One person’s ability cannot bring about change. It requires everyone to work together and share a dream goal.”

Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from you guys soon!

Frequently Asked Questions
What does an event engagement platform actually do?
An event engagement platform takes static event data (agendas, exhibitors, attendees) and turns it into interactions that actually happen. It powers matchmaking, agenda discovery, in-app messaging, and interactive maps from a single backbone, so the experience feels coherent rather than ten disconnected tools stitched together.
How can organizers automate attendee communications and structured networking?
Attendee communications and meeting management both run on the same fuel: behavioral data and the ability to act on it. Organizers need a CRM that tracks what attendees do, a campaign tool that triggers messages based on those actions, and a meeting manager that handles 1-on-1 and group sessions cleanly. Jublia AI bundles this through Attendee CRM, Campaign Courier, and Meeting Manager.
How should organizers evaluate event engagement technology for their event?
Every event has different scale, audience, and engagement goals, so off-the-shelf packages rarely fit. Organizers should evaluate platforms on three things: how the tech maps to their specific attendee journey, what setup support is included, and whether pricing scales with their event size. The right partner makes this scoping conversation early, before committing.
