The 13th Edition of the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC Global 2024) took place from April 23-25 2024. As the premier cybersecurity event in the Middle East, GISEC attracted over 350 industry leaders, renowned experts and cybersecurity enthusiasts worldwide. Hosted by the Cybersecurity Council UAE and organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event took place at their venue and focused on exploring the latest cyber security trends, insights and innovations.

Strategic Focus and Objectives

The aim of GISEC 2024 was to create a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing and exchange, business growth, and the development of cybersecurity strategies. Here, networking opportunities were a cornerstone of the event, with the goal of empowering attendees with the knowledge and tools to strengthen their cybersecurity defenses and drive collaboration. 

With a target audience that included Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), cybersecurity experts, IT professionals and government officials, the event offered dedicated meeting spaces and matchmaking services to facilitate meaningful conversations and connections. GISEC 2024 partnered with Jublia to power their event’s networking capabilities.

Elevating Event Networking and Engagement

Pre-event engagement was a key element in GISEC’s strategy for attendee networking, with attendees receiving personalized content and meeting recommendations based on their profiles, interests and event goals. By utilizing Jublia’s Web App and Native App for this, attendees were able to significantly enhance their overall event experience, resulting in over 5 million impressions for people, company and product-related content and searches. The event agenda itself also garnered over 500,000 impressions, reflecting strong attendance interest and engagement for the event.

Given the scale of the event, effective lead capture and generation were essential. GISEC utilized an on-site lead capture tool, Jublia Scan, allowing exhibitors and attendees to quickly and easily capture contact information, ensuring seamless follow-up and engagement post-event. The event recorded an impressive 50,000+ scans, reflecting the high level of interaction and interest among participants.

CISO-Centric Meetings Programme

Networking for Chief Information Security Officers was another top priority, with the event organizers ensuring efficient meetings for their high profile participants. Special attention was given to facilitating collaboration and knowledge-sharing among CISOs and other VIPs, using Jublia’s auto-matching feature as the solution. By automatically matching CISOs with relevant exhibitors and attendees based on their profiles, the event organizers could ensure efficient and productive meetings tailored to their specific needs. 

However, all is not left just to the matching algorithms. The organizers went the extra mile to review matches and personally curated additional valuable meetings for the CISOs and other key participants, enhancing the overall networking experience as evident in the below Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) scores.

GISEC Global 2024 was able to successfully address the challenge of organizing efficient and meaningful meetings for attendees, particularly for CISOs, through the use of Jublia’s engagement hub and solutions which were orchestrated seamlessly by the event organizers. The event achieved significant engagement and satisfaction, as reflected in the success metrics and positive attendee feedback.

From the GISEC CISO Circle to interactive workshops at GISEC Decode, and immersive experiences like the Cyber Escape Room, where participants solved cybersecurity puzzles in real-world scenarios, attendees were guided to tailored content and connections. The GISEC Armory showcased top open-source cybersecurity tools, fostering collaboration and innovation, and various stages addressing enlightening topics surrounding cybersecurity, such as their Dark Stage, offered in-depth discussions on emerging cybersecurity issues.

With so much content happening across the short span of 3 event days, it is easy for attendees to miss sessions or side events. To proactively improve and enhance the attendee experience, the implementation of digital tools such as AI-powered maps and personalized agendas streamlined wayfinding and assisted participants in navigating the most relevant sessions, stages, and meetings. As a result, it’s no surprise that the agenda on the platform garnered over half a million impressions!
